As a special gift, and to keep it Canadian, here is a pic of Avril Lavigne looking as airbrushed and pushed-up as ever.

Now I know a lot of you may not like her, but she recently became single, I live in Toronto, and she’s on my list.

WHERE’S THE GOOD MUSIC?

Posted in MUSIC on January 22, 2010 by K-CITY

I understand that Christmas just passed. But honestly the only thing I’ve downloaded this year is Vampire Weekend.

2010 will see new albums by Blink 182, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Kid Rock, Kings Of Leon, and Korn.

Not to mention Dr. Dre, Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco.

If something big doesn’t drop soon I might just say forget it and start listening to country.

What albums are you excited for in 2010?

WHAT I LISTENNED TO TODAY

I started off with some Muse today because I recently picked up tickets to see them in Toronto. I gave The Resistance a full listen and the Exogenesis: Symphony songs at the end I especially enjoyed as they helped me through a tough work day.

I made it halfway through Absolution before lunch and never returned.

The afternoon provided me with Raekwon’s latest, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Pt. II. I had been avoiding this one because to me the Wu-Tang clan was kind of like Voltron. As a whole they can murder just about anything, but often the solo efforts are lacklustre leaving me wondering where the 36th chamber is.

However, Raekwon absolutely smashed this album with verses from all Wu members and even an ODB tribute. RZA kills more beats than my Grandma at Christmas and Dre even drops a few.

PS. If you like the WU, try the Afro Samurai video game. It made me a real FUNGHI fun guy.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY

THE GOOD: The Jays avoided arbitration with RHP Shaun Marcum today bringing him back for the 2010 year for a mere $850,000. Solid ERA (3.39) in 25 starts in ‘08, but missed the ‘09 season due to a surgery at the end of the ‘08 season. Hopefully he is back and as good as ever.

THE BAD: The Canucks are due to embark on the longest road trip in NHL history. Starting January 30 in Toronto (which I am attending), the ‘Nucks will be on the road for 14 games. They will not be back home till March 13 against Ottawa.

THE UGLY: If T-Pain was the death of auto-tune…… then what is this? Allegedly this is the feed from Miley’s mic before it is auto-tuned. Fake or not it’s funny.
